Rick is a widower after 50 years of marriage and has two grown children and two young grandsons who all live within a mile of each other. He attends the Pearl Church in Cherry Creek and provides executive coaching and mentoring services to Christian leaders, business owners and Charitable leaders. He serves on three charitable boards, Cross Purpose, Global Warrior and Grace with Hope Clinic.

He was actively involved in corporate and nonprofit governance for much of his career having served almost 40 years in business with over 20 years in the boardroom including serving as Board Chairman and CEO of two publicly traded energy companies. This experience has given him valuable perspective on the responsibilities and expectations placed on leadership and the importance of healthy relationships between executive leaders and governing boards.

His philosophy begins with a simple assumption: most leaders want to do what is best for their organizations and stakeholders. They know their people, mission, and circumstances better than any outside advisor ever will. Because of that, his role is not to tell leaders what to do or prove that he is right. The goal is to help leaders make their best decisions and help them learn through the process to develop their own values-based style
